New Muscle Drink

So I went to work today after school. Kind of a drag at first because I just wanted to get to the gym! So close, yet so far! It ended up not being so bad since Mr. Borkowski decided to only have me work for a few hours in the shop. I guess he could tell I was eager to go work out so he let me off easy. I mostly just stocked shelves and broke down boxes. I can tell my work outs haven't been for nothing. Everything feels so much lighter than it did last week!

So, today was my arms day... By the way, I've given myself a workout plan. I guess every bodybuilder has to have one. What do you think?

Monday - Chest
Tuesday - Back
Wednesday - Legs 1
Thursday - Shoulders
Friday - Arms
Saturday - Legs 2

Anyway, arms day! I'm really improving. I don't know how much I attribute to my sudden growth spurt (now a little over an inch taller), or how much is because of my persistent workouts. I think I'll give myself some credit and say it's the workouts. Today I tried curling the 20lb dumbells and was able to do one rep! I know that's nothing to a boy, but for a girl, that's tough so I'm really impressed with myself! I even popped little veins in my bicep muscles! I got so excited I almost dropped the weights on the floor! I never thought I'd ever be that strong... but it's still not strong enough!

After working out, I went over to Mr. Borkowski's to mooch some more of my protein drink and unfortunately he had already left for the day. I have a key so I went in to try and find it myself. I still don't know the store too well, so I couldn't find it anywhere. I looked around all the shelves and even in the stock room in the back. I checked a closet in the back of the stockroom which I figured would be a long-shot. I wasn't expecting to find much of anything in there.

Instead, it was full of odd products that we didn't put on shelves in the front. There were bottles of pills and jars of power, some with handwritten labels and in lots of different languages. I'm guessing this stuff was just extra and not worth selling in the front. I found one bottle with English writing on it. It read "PROTEIN MAKER." Sounded like protein powder to me. I figured If I was gonna grab something from the store, Mr. Borkowski would probably rather I grab it from back here instead of pulling stuff off shelves in the front.

I scooped about four tablespoons (I guess that's a normal dose for protein powder) and mixed it up with some water. The water got really thick and even expanded a little. It was much thicker than my normal drink and didn't really taste like anything. I sucked it down regardless and headed home.

I didn't make any plans tonight since I'm exhausted from a busy week and Kat's party is tomorrow. I just chilled out in front of the TV and ate a 12oz salmon steak with three servings of a bean salad. Lot's of protein! I've been so hungry lately. I even brought a bunch of protein bars to school that I keep in my locker in case I get the munchies between classes.

That growth spurt really hit full force since I'm now a little more than an inch taller than I was last week. I don't know if it's stopped, but I'm gonna buy some new pants tomorrow. My shirts are all a lot more form fitting than before which I can't complain about. My chest even seems to have grown a little so I'm looking a little more curvy than before.

Ok, well I'm pretty beat. Gonna make it an early Friday night and will try to get up early tomorrow to do some shopping. I'm also eager to have another one of those muscle dreams. ;)

Happy Friday!

Love,
Mel

Back to School

Helllooo!

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Been really busy since school started on Monday and my friends all got back in town. I guess it's now the home stretch of senior year. Hooray! Finals are now rearing their ugly heads. :( Hopefully they won't interfere with my new hobby. ;)

So yeah, about that... Ever since that first day at the gym, I keep going back. I'm loving it!!! Even that day I said I was going to take off... I went anyways. I know they say you're not supposed to work out every single day, but I can't help it. It's weird because I really feel great, so I'm just gonna keep going until it's too much. In fact, yesterday I opted to spend gym class in the weight room. I was totally the only girl, but I didn't care. I didn't really pay attention to anyone else. I totally get in the 'zone' now when I work out. After school, I went to my gym for a second workout!

I'm really proud of the results I'm getting. My stomach is starting to get harder and my arms are feeling pretty firm. Not bad for a girl who just started working out! What's even better is that I seem to be having another growth spurt. In the last few days I grew almost a whole inch! I didn't think I was going to be having any more growth spurts at 17, but I'll take it! The only problem is my clothes are starting to get tight so I need to do some shopping.

Diet has also been a big thing. I've been bringing my own lunches to school, since the food they sell is gross. It's all pizza and tater tots. I've read that none of that stuff builds muscle, and frankly it's just really bad for you. I've been eating egg-whites for breakfast every morning and am bringing grilled chicken breasts to school for lunch. My mom thinks it's weird that I'm trying to eat so much, but mom's are rarely very worried when their teenage daughters are well fed. I don't know why I'm so hungry although I guess my growth spurt has something to do with it. I'm still drinking those protein shakes from the shop and am even having two servings a day. I can't get enough of them!

I'm back to sleeping normal hours, but I'm still having those weird dreams where I'm all big and strong. I'm getting used to them though, and frankly there kinda fun!

Oh yeah, so on Monday I told my friend Katerina about my new aspiration to be a female bodybuilder. She said I was completely insane and that I would only last for another month before I got sick of it. About an hour later I was at the gym doing lat pulldowns (I'm learning all the weight room lingo). Katerina is about my size and I tried to get her to join me in my "big dream," but she's more interested in attracting boys. She's having a birthday party on Saturday and invited a few, one that she wants to set me up with. I don't even remember his name.

Okay, time to get to bed. Talk to you all soon!

Love,
Mel

Sunday Morning

I had my first day of training yesterday at the store with Mr. Borkowski. Turns out, he's a bit of a nut, but kinda sweet. He gave me a basic tour of the different products he sells from name brand protein powders to obscure imported products. I forget what most of the imported ones were but they all had to do with building muscle or strength. Aren't I lucky to have found this place? ;)

After a few hours of moving boxes and stocking shelves, I went next door to the gym for some training of my own. I decided to start with bench press this time, but could only do the bar with no weights. Overall, I felt much better than yesterday. I felt less winded, in more control of my body and even a bit stronger.

Like my normal clothes, my gym clothes also felt a bit tighter, especially in the arms and chest. In the mirror I didn't look too different, but my muscles definitely felt a bit harder than usual. I got really excited and enthusiastically continued my workout. I didn't feel sore or anything from the previous day so I figured I could work harder.

I even went back to doing bicep curls and found that the 5lb weights were a bit lighter than the day before, but the 10lb's were still too heavy. Overall, I couldn't believe how good I felt. Now I know why so many boys at school can't stop talking about working out. It's so much fun!

Afterwords, I asked Mr. Borkowski for another one of those protein drinks. He smiled and said "Of course!" I don't know why I asked for another. I didn't really like the taste, but somehow I craved it. When I got home, I took my shower and looked at myself in the mirror. I flexed... well tried to flex. I definitely had a good pump from working out, but my figure still looked small, thin and flat. No matter, I have a goal and I'm gonna stick to it!

After my little pose-down, I got really tired again and fell asleep right after dinner. I woke up a few minutes ago which means I slept for over 13 hours which is still weird for me. I also think I had another one of those dreams where I felt big and powerful. Even better, I think in the dream I was growing. Hopefully they continue!

I have to go to school tomorrow so I think I'll take today off. I don't know why I'm sleeping so much, but if it has something to do with working out, which it probably does, I can't afford to wake up late tomorrow.

Thanks for the comments! Keep 'em coming!

Love,
Mel
